WORKING PRINCIPLE

REFRIGERATION AIR DRYER

The principle on which the Refrigeration Air Dryer manufacturing takes place and subsequently works is that cooling of compressed air causes condensation of water that is carried by the compressed air in vapour form.

The compressed air first enters the pre-cooler where the outgoing cool dry air cools the incoming hot wet air. It then passes through the evaporator where the temperature is reduced to approximately 2–8°C, allowing moisture to condense.

The condensed moisture is separated by a mechanical moisture separator and automatically drained through a drain valve. The resulting dry air passes back through the pre-cooler and exits the dryer with a pressure dew point of approximately 4°C.
